You may not think it’s a big deal to download music or pirate a copy of software from the Internet without paying for it — but it is.

Doing so is a crime and contributes to a global issue of intellectual property theft that impacts everyone from business corporations and the government, to creatives and even consumers. And even if a piece of intellectual property doesn’t show a copyright symbol, it may still be protected by copyright.
